We serve authentic Louisiana Cuisine, made from scratch, and a large selection of fine craft ales, including 15 Florida beers on draft.  We are located on beautiful Cross Bayou in the heart of Pinellas County.  


Our goal is to make you feel welcome here.  We do our best to keep our dining areas a pleasant and relaxing respite, away from the hustle and bustle of today's modern world.  Our focus is on good food, good beer, pleasant dinner conversation and clean air!  


We are non-smoking, both inside and out.  

We have a long history here on Cross Bayou.  We get so many questions and on this page we will attempt to answer some of them for you.  

Cajun Cafe on the Bayou was established in February of 1996 by Joe Thibodaux.  Joe was born and raised in Thibodaux, Louisiana.  


Joe joined the Army when he was 17.  During the course of his military career, he served a year in Korea and two tours in Vietnam.  


Joe moved to Florida in 1977 and retired here in 1980.  Pinellas County has been his home ever since.

Why yes, that is Cajun legend Doug Kershaw pictured to the far right.  Mr Kershaw performed at the Cafe on three occasions during Joe's ownership.  He also recorded a PBS special here and a snippet of it is still available to view on YouTube.
